The Whitehall Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to develop the whole child academically, morally, socially and culturally. The introduction of the new National Curriculum in 2014/15 lead us into refreshing our school approach and provision for pupils. As a result, we have designed our own ‘creative curriculum’ where cross-curricular links across subject areas are made where possible. The primary national curriculum is followed to ensure progression throughout the Key Stage.
Our policy is to teach pupils in ability groups during the morning sessions for English and Maths. Focused target groups also take place during the mornings, which are delivered to targeted children in order to develop basic skills in English and Maths.
We have high expectations of behaviour for children in the school. Our behaviour policy, based on the philosophy of positive encouragement with clear sets of rewards and sanctions, has now been rewritten and is being followed by all staff. Our children are frequently congratulated when we take them to outside visits and events
