Sport Premium Funding

In April 2013, the Government announced that a funding of £150 million per annum, jointly provided by the Department of Education, Health, Culture, Media and Sport, is to be given to primary schools in order to improve the quality and provision of Sport and P.E. The funding given to maintained and state-funded schools with primary phrase children is ring-fenced and can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

Whitehall Junior School have been allocated £9000 for the academic year 2013-2014.

This funding will enable us to continue providing children with an innovative, varied, and enthusiastic curriculum, linking all subjects together.

We have used the funding in the following ways:

  • Hiring specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work with primary teachers when teaching PE.
  • Raise the profile of PE and sport for children and parents.
  • Offer teachers, including the PE subject leader, CPD opportunities.
  • Offer children an increasing participation in school games.
  • Improve resources for teaching PE.
  • Buying into Schools Sports Partnership.
  • Providing extra, additional activities such as outdoor and adventurous activities.
